  Amazing helicopter trip. We started in Kathmandu with an hour flight to Lukla, the worlds most dangerous airport, where we dropped off fuel for the ride home. Then we took... read more off for Everest Base Camp. Our pilot was a US based mountain rescue pilot with 27 years experience. We headed over EBC, Khumba ice fall and then climbed to camps 1 & 2, reaching over 21,000ft. After a few circles to take in the views, we landed at Kala Patthar (18,000ft) to get out and take some truly amazing pictures. From there we headed to Everest View Hotel and landed for an hour for breakfast and a beer. Another great photo op with sweeping views of Mt Everest and the surrounding Himalayas. We headed out again for Lukla to refuel and watched a couple planes take off right over the cliff!
After refueling, it was back to Kathmandu.

Bonus* The helicopter had a Go Pro mount fixed just under the nose for easy hookup. We got some incredible footage!

Including all fees and taxes, we paid just over $1200 each (3 of us) and tipped our pilot $100.

Despite never being in a helicopter before, I felt safe and enjoyed every minute of it.
